What's the name? Because my firend said he played a PS3 emulator on PC but there's nothing I could find about a working PS3 emulator, so I really doubt it exists. Yeah but you'd need a very very fast CPU instead if you want to run it at good speeds. There actually is a working PC PS3 emulator, got released march this year. You would wait much more than "a little" as such changes dont occur just like that Quote:I would wait a little more for GSdx to fully support it. On the contrary In hardware mode you can use higher internal resolution which makes a great visual difference in most games (besides of being much faster ofc), only some games actually need software mode (or native resolution) to run fine but then again software mode is the most compatible and slower mode. I've attached a picture showing Software mode rendering (left) to Hardware (right), so anyone without the game can see. Shadow of the Colossus is another game where this is employed. Most people don't realize but GSdx got lots of specific games hacks that are enabled without you knowing and sacrifice some visual fidelity in exchange of playability. Probably its harder to program this using Direct3D, than it is using GSdx own rastering engine. I really don't know the why but I guess it has to do with rendering the screen to a surface and applying effects, as you can see that most of the differences are related to full-screen shaders or reflection. Since on Hardware mode you are using your GPU processor instead of your CPUs, you save processing power for the emulator.īut in MGS3 GSdx Hardware mode is significantly different from Software mode visually. People use Hardware mode because its faster and in most games there is no visual difference between both modes. Then why does everyone use Hardware mode? Emotion Engine hacks I use all, VU Cycle Stealing at almost full. SpeedHacks: Play around with cycle rate, usually for me it makes the game slower. GSdx: Make sure you use Native, all other options use default.ĬPU: Disable MicroVU, as far as I know, it makes no difference on MGS3 MGS deserves to be played like the developers intendedīut if you really must insist, these are my settings: I would wait a little more for GSdx to fully support it. Just Open the game and press F9 to see the difference between software and hardware mode. In other words, if you really want to play the game as it should be, you'll have to use software mode, that cuts fps by half, and makes it slow in most machines. It doesn't really, you'll loose lots of effects (reflections on water, full-screen shading/bloom/color-correction, radio pictures/effects). What is natural, if: GSdx on hardware mode supported MGS3. To play the game at its fullest, unless you have a real powerfull CPU, you'll probably have to use your GPU, what means hardware mode on GSdx. Sure, you can play from start to end with 50-60fps in most areas, but only if you are willing to lose 50% of the way the developers intended you to see the game. Believe in it or not, MGS3 isn't as playable as most people say it is.
